I’m just an ordinary bloke. Happily married for nineteen years. Two lovely daughters. House on the lake. Own business. Plans for the future. Oh, and two cats. Guess I was luckier than most.
But on Friday, May 16th 2008 something new came into my life. That was when the voices flashes started. Just on the left side of my field of vision, like a spinner, displaying all colours of the rainbow. Didn’t think much of it at the time. Bumped into a door frame twice that afternoon. Again, put it down to being overworked and tired. Didn’t feel safe driving the car on the way home, felt like I was veering from side to side. The next day; my field of vision had narrowed considerably on the left. This was when my darling wife drove me to the hospital.
Next to my family, humour is the one thing that keeps me going. I love to laugh and to joke and to take life in its stride. I sway between crying out in despair and having a laugh about the bloody absurdity of it all. Hell, life is too great!
You will also find stuff in these pages which ranges from the plain silly to the outrageously funny (or at least what I take to be outrageously funny) as well as an account of my life before and (hopefully) after the operation which I’m going to have.
What happened to me since that day is what my blog is all about – thanks for stopping by!
